LATELY IN HOUSTON

Smile, it's analog. Houston's photo booth scene is having a moment as Gen Z chases tangible memories over digital ones. Flats runs the city's only film booth, Roma's pop-up brings branding-free aesthetic strips, and Photomatica opens its biggest "photo booth museum" yet near Meow Wolf this June. Vinyl's old friend is back. Axios Houston

Make. Houston. Walkable (kinda). Midtown's busted sidewalks are finally getting their glow-up. A $2.9M project will rehab cracked walkways and pavement along Truxillo and Isabella streets starting October, wrapping by April 2027. Wider sidewalks, ADA ramps, smoother roads are all part of Houston's Walkable Places push. Chron

Still iconic. Released May 27, 1997, Lil' Keke's "Southside" gave Houston one of its most enduring dances. Born from the Screwed Up Click "just messing around," per Keke. Named for his home turf home to MLK Boulevard swangas and DJ Screw's "Screw House", the easy sway-and-bop spread block to block, pre-TikTok. Houstonia Magazine

Trade traffic for tractors. Houstonia rounds up the best family farms within an hour of Houston: pick-your-own berries at Blessington and Froberg's, baby goat cuddles at Blue Heron and Rose Therapeutic, plus pony rides, corn mazes, and (crucially) beer and wine gardens for the grown-ups. Goat yoga optional, joy mandatory. Houstonia Magazine
